the World Hypertension League Regional Congress 2011

I am very pleased to tell you that the World Hypertension League Regional Congress 2011, incorporating with the 13th International Symposium on Hypertension and Related Disease, organized by the World Hypertension League (WHL) and the Chinese Hypertension League (CHL), will take place in Beijing, China from November 3rd  to November 6th, 2011, at the Beijing International Conference Center. We would like to take this opportunity to invite the  Israel Hypertension Society to support this event.

The World Hypertension League (WHL) is dedicated to hypertension prevention and control, and aims to promote the exchange of information among its 95 member organizations. The Chinese Hypertension League (CHL), a member of WHL, has, since its establishment, played the leading role in the prevention and treatment of hypertension in China. CHL has united large numbers of doctors, investigators and medical workers engaged in community prevention and treatment, and made outstanding contributions to the prevention, treatment and research of hypertension in China as well as in the international arena.

Hypertension is predicted to be the leading causal contributor to the expected epidemic of cardiovascular and related diseases in the next 10 years. To address this issue, WHL, in conjunction with CHL, is organizing the Regional Congress of the World Hypertension League. This Asia-Pacific regional gathering will bring together global experts to present, discuss and share their experience of hypertension prevention and control, and related disease management.

The  3-and-a-half-day conference (November 3~6, 2011) has its focus: Hypertension Management—From Bench to Bedside and Community, with particular reference to how  we apply the present achievements and bring them from the research bench to the bedside and the community?

The scientific  program will not only concentrate on diagnosis and treatment, but also on primary and secondary prevention, on how to improve preventative care continuously on a patient-by-patient basis, and furthermore, how to leverage the community’s strength to benefit more patients at a time. We would like the endorsed society to support the event by:

• Promoting the event to its members and encouraging them to participate as conference delegates through society journals/flyers and/or EDM (expected 3 times before the event), and through advertising at society conferences.(IHS 2011 annual meeting )

• Encouraging members of the society to submit abstracts to the conference committee by June 15 , 2011
